Come As you are!

At Adventure Christian Church, we exist to create opportunities for people to come as they are and become all that God desires them to be.

We accomplish this through our mission of loving God, loving people, and making disciples.

Our goal is provide excellent environments where people can COME AND SEE about Jesus,

CONNECT with Jesus and others, GROW as kingdom workers, and GO make disciples.

 “The Hi-5”

Our Values and Priorities

We seek to live out the unique and different kind of life that chases after what God desires for us. These values/priorities help us activiely display our faith and our identity as friends of God.

01

We Live the Way (Biblical Authority)

John 1:14, John 14:6, 2 Timothy 3:16
Bottom Line: Jesus is the way and the Word. He lived the way connected to the Word of God, under the Authority of God, in the desires (will) of God, and empowered by the spirit of God. We do the same.

02

We're Better Together (Authentic Community):

Romans 12:5, Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, Acts 2:44-45
Bottom Line: God never intended for us to do life alone. People are designed and created to partner together. You belong here.

03

We Step Into the Mess (On Mission)

Matthew 25:34-40, James 1:27
Bottom Line: We cannot love and care for others from a distance. Like Jesus, we are not afraid to get our hands dirty in order to love and serve sacrificially.

04

We Bring Hope to Everyone (Relational Evangelism)

1 Peter 3:15, 2 Corinthians 5:20, Ephesians 2:10, Mark 16:15
Bottom Line: The Gospel is best shared thru intentional relationships. People have to know that you care before they will care about what you know. Everyone deserves a chance at the real hope that comes from Jesus.

05

We Join the Movement (Disciple Making)

Matthew 28:19-20, 1 John 2:6
Bottom Line: Jesus came to start a Gospel movement of multiplication through disciple making. We are commissioned and equipped to join His movement today.

What We Believe:

At Adventure we want to be known for what we FOR and not for what we are AGAINST. We are for everything that has been described in our VALUES & PRIORITIES above, but at the same time we are not against anyone. We believe that you can be for something/someone without also having to be against something/someone else. We unashamedly AFFIRM what we believe and interpret the Bible says about all aspects of life. We also ACCEPT and welcome anyone and everyone that wants to get in the same room with Jesus and allow Him to work things out, just as He did, regardless of their past mistakes or present circumstances. While many “religious” and “self righteous” folks (whether intentionally or not) seek to create a hierarchy of sinful behaviors where some are more demonized than others…the truth is this: sin is sin, plain and simple.  The word for sin means “to miss the mark.” So whether its a miss by a millimeter or a mile…a miss is a miss…and we HAVE ALL MISSED. We’re all in the same boat when it comes to our desperate need for Jesus’ grace and mercy.  So whether we struggle with sexual sin, substance addiction, lying, stealing, gossip, or anger, etc…no one’s sin is better or worse than anyone else’s and no person’s need for Jesus’ grace and mercy is more or less than anyone else’s. Jesus invites everyone into an “abundant life” (John 10:10) and that happens through making Him our personal Lord AND Savior. We believe that our core beliefs, when expressed and lived out through our values and priorities, help to form the guardrails that keep us on the path to living the kind of life Jesus desires for us, what we at Adventure call “The With God Life.” It’s through this lens that we share what we hold as our core beliefs…

About God: God is the creator of the universe and eternally exists in three persons, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; 1 Peter 1:2; Psalm 90:2

About Jesus: Jesus Christ, born of a virgin, is the one and only Son of God. He lived a perfect, sinless life on earth. He offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all mankind when he died upon the cross. He was buried in a tomb for three days and then to demonstrate his power over sin and death, he arose from the dead. Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to heaven. Matthew 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; John 14:6; John 3:16

About the Bible: The Bible is the inspired word of God. It was written under supernatural guidance and therefore the Bible exists today without error. 2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119:105; Proverbs 30:5

About the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He lives in every Christ follower from the moment of Salvation. He gives us the ability to live in a way that we could never live on our own. John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; Colossians 1:27

About Humanity: Every person has priceless value and worth as a creation of God, but all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. The great news is that the forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are to those who trust Christ as Savior and Lord. Romans 3:23; John 3:16

About Salvation: We believe that Jesus’ perfect life, perfect sacrifice on the cross, and glorious resurrection provide the sole basis forgiveness of sins and the opportunity for eternal life. Those accepting Christ should repent (turn away) from sin, confess their faith and be baptized into new life through Christ. Romans 10:9, 6:23; Acts 2:38; Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 3:26

About the Church: The Church is the body of Christ on earth. The church exists to save the lost and edify the saved. Ephesians 4:1-16; Matthew 5:14

About Eternity: Man was originally created to live forever; and all mankind will exist eternally separated from God or in the very presence of God. Our eternal destiny is determined by our decision on earth to accept (eternity with God) or reject (eternity separated from God) Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  We further believe that Jesus Christ will one day return to earth to reign forever as King of kings and Lord of lords. Luke 12:5; John 14:2-6; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.

About Gender, Marriage, and Sexuality: We believe that God purposefully and intentionally created humanity with 2 distinct genders, male and female (Genesis 1:26 - 31 and Genesis 2). God created men and women to co-rule and co-reign under His authority TOGETHER AS EQUALS over all creation in such a way that they were a living/breathing example and the clearest reflection of the image and likeness of God who created them. God joined them (man and woman) together spiritually, emotionally, physically, and sexually through the covenant of marriage and commanded them to be fruitful and multiply. We believe that God created sexual intimacy as a deeply spiritual, emotional, and physical display of oneness and love that is to be enjoyed and celebrated between one man and one woman within the lifelong covenant of marriage, and that (married or single) our entire lives (including gender, sexuality, how we care for creation, etc) are meant to reflect His image and His likeness to all of creation.
